Sa dva gola u drugom poluvremenu od strane Marcusa Rashforda, Barcelona je stigla do 0:2 na St James' Parku. Utešni gol za Newcastle United postigao je Anthony Gprdon u 90. minutu utakmice.

Lepe su fudbalske predstave na St James' Parku u Ligi Šampiona pod reflektorima. Nasmejana lica na tribinama, svi puni optimizma da naš klub može da pobedi fudbalskog giganta kao što je Barcelona. Tino Asprilla u mislima a pogledi uprti prema nekim novim herojima koji nose svete crno-bele dresove.

Meč dobro otvara Anthony Elanga po desnom boku koji je u dva navrata spojio loptom prvo Gordona a zatim i Barnesa ali prvi promašuje celu loptu na šest metara od gola a drugi levom nogom dobro šutira sa pet metara ali mu golman Barce Joan Garcia brani udarac.

Barcelona u prvom poluvremenu nije igrala ništa posebno. Marcus Rashford je imao jednu priliku ali nije najbolje zahvatio loptu.

U nastavku igre Joelinton glavom pokušava posle jednog kornera već posle tri minuta igre ali lopta odlazi pored gola. Pet minuta kasnije i Sandro Tonali šutira sa dvadesetak metara ali Garcia sguran na golu gostiju.

Igrao se 58. minut utakmice kada je sa levog boka loptu u šesnaesterac Newcastle Uniteda uputio Kounde pravo na glavu Marcusu Rashfordu kojii je glavom sa deset metara smešta u mrežu domaćih za 0:1. Zaspao je Fabian Schar a Rashoford to ne prašta.

Međutim, posebno lep gol Rashforda bio je onaj u 67. minutu utakmice kada je Marcus udarcem desnom nogom sa dvadesetak metara od prečke loptu zabio u gol Newcastle Uniteda za 0:2. Mogao je i Tonali mnogo bolje da ga isprati ali nije.

Utešni gol za Newcastle United postigao je Anthony Gordon u 90. minutu utakmice udarcem levom nogom sa desetak metara. Asistenciju upisuje Jacob Murphy.

Utakmica je bila produžena za sedam minuta ali u tih sedam minuta igrači Newcastle Uniteda gotovo da nisu ni pipnuli loptu. Barca je i u sudijskoj nadoknadi mogla da postigne gol ali je Nick Pope uspeo da odbrani udarac jednom igraču Barcelone.

Neki su razočarani jer nismo dobili Barcelonu ali zaboravljaju da je Barcelona prvak Španije i da je prošle sezone igrala polufnale Lige Šampiona. Još smo mi daleko od njihovog nivoa ali imamo još sedam utakmica protiv timova sa kojima možemo da igramo i da ih pobedimo.

Već u nedelju putujemo u Bornemouth na megdan istomenom timu u okviru Premier League.

NEWCASTLE UNITED  -  WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS  1 : 0

Najskuplje pojačanje Newcastle Uniteda u istoriji Nick Woltemade je na svom debiju postigao prvi gol za svoj novi klub i tako Svrakama doneo prvu pobedu u prvenstvu.

Woltemade je gol postigao glavom u 29. minutu utakmice i upravo tim golom savladan je fenjeraš Wolverhampton Wanderers rezultatom 1:0. Asistenciju je ubeležio Jacob Murphy.

Tokom meča bilo je još izglednih prilika. Vukovi su u prvom minutu imali dve odlične prilike koje je odbranio Nick Pope. Prvu već posle sedam sekundi meča imao je Rodrigo Gomes ali Pope mu spektakularno brani udarac i loptu izbija u korner. Posle tog kornera i Hee-Chan Hwang je uputio udarac levom nogom ka golu domaćih ali i taj udarac brani Nick Pope.

Sa druge strane Jacob Murphy je oprobao svoj felš udarac sa distance levom nogom ali lopta prolazii pored gostujućeg gola. Murphy je imao još jednu odličnu priliku za gol kadas je šutirao levom nogom sa svega četiri metra ali mu je golman gostiju Sam Johnstone odbranio udarac. 

Vukovi su imali još jednu dobru priliku ali je Fabian Schar pravovremenom reakcijom izbacio loptu u korner ispred gostujućeg igrača Arokodarea.

Posle nešto više od dvadeset minuta igre Harvey Barnes je pao ispred gostujućeg šesnaesterca jer ga je laktom u vrat pogodio Emmanuel Agbadou ali to nije bilo dovoljno ljudima iz VAR sobe da se igraču Wolvesa pokaže crveni karton.

Igrao se 29. minut kada je sa desnog boka Jacob Murphy uputio centaršut na dalju stativu u visini peterca gde se našao naš novi heroj Nick Woltemade koji loptu glavom smešta u gostujuću mrežu za 1:0. Ole, ole, ole, Woltemade...

Desetak minuta kasnije gosti prete preko Rodriga Gomesa ali je njegov udarac glavom završio pored gola domaćih.

Do kraja poluvremena još tri prilike za Svrake. U prvoj Murphy šutira topovski desnom nogom sa distance ali lopta fijuče pored protivničkog gola. U drugoj Murphy trese gostujuću mrežu ali prethodno je Barnes bio u ofsajdu i gol se poništava da bi u trećoj prilici Sandro Tonali udarcem levom nogom sa dvadesetak metara pogodio stativu protivničkog gola ali lopta se odbija u polje, tako da se na poluvreme otišlo sa minimalnom prednošću Newcastle Uniteda.

Drugo poluvreme dosta siromašnije od prvog. Prvu ozbiljniju priliku za gol imao je Harvey Barnes tek u 74. minutu utakmice ali je njegov udarac sa dvadesetak metara levom nogom otišao preko gostujućeg gola.

Eddie Howe je izvršio nekoliko izmena što je umrtvilo igru. Malo se ušlo i u nervoznu završnicu jer Svrake nisu uspele da još jednom zatresu protivničku mrežu i reše meč ali ekipa Wolverhamptona će imati velikih problema da ove sezone zadrži status Premijerligaša jer su postigli svega dva gola na četiri meča i nemaju ni bod.

Pet bodova iz četiri meča je dovoljno za sredinu tabele Premier League. Sa ovog meča pamtićemo gol Nicka Woltemadea, pobedu i ništa više. Nažalost novo pojačanje Wissu nećemo videti u dresu Newcastle Uniteda najmanje još mesec dana zbog povrede koje je zadobio igrajući za reprezentaciju. Takođe ni Jacob Ramsey neće igrati mesec dana.

Već u četvrtak na našem St James' Parku u okviru Lige Šampiona dočekujemo slavnu Barcelonu.

As I settle into my new role, I wanted to take a moment to extend a heartfelt thanks for the warm welcome I have received.

Since arriving last week, I have had so many conversations with people inside and outside the club. I’ve gained invaluable insights, and I’m looking forward to connecting and engaging with more of you in the weeks and months to come.

I’m also looking forward to getting out into the community in the coming weeks to meet more of you and understand what makes this region so special.

My first impression is this is one united family, on and off the pitch. It is the people who make this football club so special and it is a privilege for me and my family to now be a part of it.

I’m also truly excited about the future that lies ahead of us. My aim is to build on the tremendous work that preceded me with a renewed sense of alignment for everyone, helping us to grow and win together.

While I have seen, heard and felt your pride and passion at close hand in recent days, I strongly suspect it will be nothing compared to what I will experience at St. James’ Park in the coming days.

I can’t wait to be with you for my first game as CEO on Saturday and to be alongside you for the phenomenal journey ahead of us. The best is yet to come.

Newcastle United are delighted to announce the appointment of David Hopkinson as the club's new Chief Executive Officer.

David officially joins the club on Friday, 5th September and will undertake a comprehensive handover process supported by outgoing CEO Darren Eales, who steps down from the position for health reasons.

David brings more than 25 years of senior executive leadership and commercial expertise across three countries, delivering results for some of the world's most iconic and valuable sporting organisations.

From New York to Newcastle

David joins Newcastle United after serving as President and Chief Operating Officer at Madison Square Garden Sports in the United States, where he led the business operations of the New York Knicks and New York Rangers.

Both are among the most valuable franchises in the National Basketball Association and National Hockey League respectively, and compete at the world-renowned Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Previously, as Global Head of Partnerships at Real Madrid, David served on the executive team as they cemented their place as one of the world's most valuable football clubs.

Earlier, he spent over two decades at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment as Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing commercial activities for the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and the NBA's Toronto Raptors.

David said: "I am incredibly honoured to join Newcastle United at such an exciting time in the club's history.

Sada već bivši napadač Brentford Citya Yoane Wissa potpisao je dugogodišnji ugovor sa Newcastle Unitedom za 55 miliona funti. 

Wissa ima 29 godina i nosiće dres sa brojem 9 na leđima. Wissa je reprezentativac Konga.
