"Never say never, but to be clear Mike Ashley is 100% committed to this deal (sale).

Prodaja Newcastle Uniteda je propala. Saudijski Investicioni Fond (PIF), Amanda Staveley (PCP Capital Partners) i braća Reuben su povukli ponudu.

A statement read:

"With a deep appreciation for the Newcastle community and the significance of its football club, we have come to the decision to withdraw our interest in acquiring Newcastle United Football Club. We do so with regret, as we were excited and fully committed to invest in the great city of Newcastle and believe we could have returned the Club to the position of its history, tradition and fans’ merit.

Unfortunately, the prolonged process under the current circumstances coupled with global uncertainty has rendered the potential investment no longer commercially viable. To that end, we feel a responsibility to the fans to explain the lack of alternatives from an investment perspective.

As an autonomous and purely commercial investor, our focus was on building long-term value for the Club, its fans and the community as we remained committed to collaboration, practicality and proactivity through a difficult period of global uncertainty and significant challenges for the fans and the Club.

Ultimately, during the unforeseeably prolonged process, the commercial agreement between the Investment Group and the Club’s owners expired and our investment thesis could not be sustained, particularly with no clarity as to the circumstances under which the next season will start and the new norms that will arise for matches, training and other activities.

As often occurs with proposed investments in uncertain periods, time itself became an enemy of the transaction, particularly during this difficult phase marked by the many real challenges facing us all from Covid-19

We feel great compassion for the Newcastle United fans with whom we shared a great commitment to help Newcastle United harness its tremendous potential and build upon its impressive and historic legacy while working closely with the local community.

We would like to say that we truly appreciated your incredible expressions of support and your patience throughout this process. We are sorry it is not to be.

We wish the team and everyone associated with it much good luck and success".

NEWCASTLE UNITED  -  LIVERPOOL  1 : 3

Spuštena je zavesa na verovatno najčudniju sezonu u istoriji fudbala. Skoro godinu dana je trajala sezona. Prekinuta je bila početkom marta zbog COVID-19 pandemije a završila se 26. jula. Newcastle United je završio sezonu porazom od šampiona Liverpoola rezultatom 1:3. Bukvalno, nikoga nije bilo briga kojim rezultatom će se utakmica završiti. Sve oči su i dalje uprte u Premier League i njihovu odluku o prodaji kluba.

Start iz snova za Newcastle United. Gol za Svrake posle samo 25 sekudni postigao je Dwight Gayle koji je sa desetak metara desnom nogom matirao Alisona. Na polovini igrališta Wijnaldum je faulirao Saint-Maximina. Shelvey je poslao upotrebljivu loptu do Gayle koji lako rešava situaciji poslavši loptu iza Alisona za 1:0. To je bilo sve od Newcastle Uniteda na ovoj utakmici. VAR sistem je gledao da li se Gayle nalazio u ofsajdu, ali je utvrđeno da je Gayle bio u dozvoljenoj poziciji prilikom dodavanja lopte ka njemu.

Prvu priliku za goste imao je  Minamino u 29. minutu utakmice, kada je udarcem sa distance pokušao da postigne gol ali istakao su Dubravka prelepom paradom, posle koje je loptu izbacio u korner.

Međutim, na 1:1 izjednačio je Virgil van Dijk u 38. minutu utakmice prelepim golom glavom. Sa desnom boka loptu na peterac domaćih poslao je Oxlade-Chamberlain. Na petercu viši od dva igrača domaćih bio je van Dijk koji je glavom bukvalno lobovao Dubravku. Možda je Dubravka mogao i bolje da reaguje u ovoj situaciji.

Do kraja poluvremena i Oxlade-Chamberlain je oprobao udarac sa distance, ali je njegova lopta prošla pored desne stativ Dubravkinog gola.

U drugom poluvremenu Divock Origi dovodi Liverpool u vođstvo od 1:2 u 59. minutu utakmice prelepim felš udarcem desnom nogom sa dvadesetak metara, pogodivši levi donji ugao Dubravkinog gola.

Sredinom drugog poluvremena u igru za šampiona Engleske su ušli Firmino, Salah i Mane i odmah napravili dar-mar u odbrani Newcastle Uniteda. Salah je u 66. minutu drmao stativu Dubravkinog gola, dok je isti igrač šest minuta kasnije oklevao da uputi udarac ka domaćem golu, što je dalo vremena Fernandezu da klizećim startom izblokira udarac.

Konačan rezultat postiže Sadio Mane u 89. minutu utakmice, udarcem sa dvanaest metara felš udarcem desnom nogom, pogodivši levu stranu Dubravkinog gola.

Sezonu smo završili na 13. mestu na tabeli Premier League sa osvojenih 44 boda. Šampion je Liverpool, dok iz lige ispadaju Norwich, Bournemouth i Watford.

Bukvalno nikoga nije zanimalo na kom mestu na tabeli će Newcastle United završiti od momenta kada je klub osigurao opstanak u Premier League. Svi čekamo evo već 16 nedelja odluku Premier League da li će se Newcastle United prodati ili ne.

Ako se klub ne proda, bojim se da ćemo sledeće sezone ispasti iz Premier League, jer ćemo imati vlasnika koji ne želi da bude vlasnik i neće ni penija uložiti u nova pojačanja.

Newcastle United je danas predstavio svoj novi dres za sezonu 2020/21.

Dres je veoma sličan kao onaj od pre dve sezone. Proizvođač dresa je i dalje Puma (produžen ugovor na još godinu dana), dok je sponzor na dresu kladionica FUN88.

Takođe, predstavljen je i novi golmanski dres, koje je plave boje.

Dres će imati krštenje u nedelju na meču protiv Liverpoola.
