Grupacija navijača Newcastle Uniteda okupljena oko organizacije The Newcastle United Supporters Trust (NUST) je danas obelodanila projekat pod nazivom The 1892 Pledge.

Supporters of Newcastle United are launching a bid to buy part of their club.

Newcastle United Supporters Trust (NUST) is spearheading the drive to take a stake in the future of Newcastle United Football Club.

The Trust, which has more than 14,000 members, is asking United supporters to pledge small amounts of money for a fund that aims to buy part of the club when it is sold by the current owner, Mike Ashley.
 
The 1892 Pledge - named after the year Newcastle United was formed - has been three years in the planning and has already attracted support from the worlds of football, politics and the media.

Through the 1892 Pledge, NUST aims to build a pot of money that can either give supporters a small share of the club if it is sold while in the Premier League or see fans ready to step in to help save the club in the event of relegation and the financial consequences that could see a change of ownership.

Greg Tomlinson, Chair of the Newcastle United Supporters Trust said: “For decades, fans have been told they are the lifeblood of the club, but when major decisions are made, they are always left out.

“It is an unfortunate fact that in football, as in life, money talks. Therefore, we feel that if we as fans really want to be an active part of conversations that will dictate the future of Newcastle United, we have to put our money
where our mouth is.

“Raising funds will give us the financial backing to make our voices properly heard as and when the club is eventually sold.”

Alex Hurst, Trust board member and the driving force behind the 1892 Pledge, said:

“The 1892 Pledge could mean we, as fans, can invest in our club, that could be in the form of a percentage stake in NUFC if it is sold whilst in the Premier League or, if things take a turn for the worse and the club’s fortunes sink further, we would be there standing ready to provide investment and potentially be part of a buying consortium.

“Supporters must have a say in what happens to NUFC and we believe this campaign will give us a real voice in the running of the club - not just now but for years and decades into the future.”

Fans are being asked to pay in what they can, when they can to fund the 1892 Pledge.

Supporters are encouraged to set up direct debit payments through a dedicated website - www.1892pledge.co.uk - which will display the total amount raised by fans on a daily basis.

Alex explained: “It is important to stress we are not asking fans to part with their life savings or cash in their pension pots - this is not what Pledge 1892 is about.

“Instead, it’s about making small, regular donations of a few pounds a month (or more if people can spare it!) which will build up a fund over time.

“It’s also about bringing NUFC supporters together in a common goal, not just fans in the North East and the UK but all over the world.

“We believe there is nothing that fans of this club can’t achieve when we are truly united and this is a chance for us to prove it.”
 
The Trust has appointed four ‘Guardians’ to safeguard the money raised and ensure it can only be used for one of two purposes.

The first purpose is to buy shares in Newcastle United FC.

The second is that if NUST fails in its attempt to buy a part of the club when it is sold because they have failed to raise the funds or a new owner did not want to sell a part of the club to supporters then all of the money would be donated to charities based in the North East of England.

Ian Mearns, MP for Gateshead
George Caulkin, North East football reporter for The Athletic
Lee Humble, chartered accountant.
 
Alex Hurst said: “All four of our Guardians are passionate about Newcastle United and its supporters.

“They believe, as we do, that the future success and viability of the club depends on the fans - even more so with the financial problems brought about by the pandemic.

“Before Covid-19 hit, some people were confident that Premier League clubs could essentially survive on TV money, but that has been blown out of the water over the past 12 months.

“The financial situation faced by clubs across the league, not just NUFC, demonstrates just what a vital role fans play.

“We already have power and financial clout. Imagine what we could do with a proper stake in the club.”
 
In return for the fans’ financial backing, NUST would like new owners to allow the Trust to work within the club, either through an executive board position or another role which can allow the Trust, its members and the supporters of Newcastle United to influence the club and its future
direction.

Alex said: “There is a huge and ever-growing disconnect between the people who run Newcastle United and the people who support the club.

“This is not just confined to the question of who manages the team - recent polls in the Chronicle and The Athletic have flagged up the intense disaffection which fans have with the entire running of the club.

“This situation is unhealthy and unsustainable. We believe the 1892 Pledge is the first step towards writing a better future for Newcastle United.

“This is an ambitious project designed to begin the hard work of protecting the club for the next generation of Newcastle United fans.”

NEWCASTLE UNITED  -  TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR  2 : 2

Newcastle United i Tottenham Hotspur su na St James' Parku odigrali jednu odličnu utakmicu, gde je posle devedeset minuta igre rezultat glasio 2:2.

Prvu priliku na meču imao je Joelinton koji je šutirao ka gostujućem golmanu, danas odličnom Llorisu sa dvadesetak metara levom nogom, ali Lloris mirno hvata udarac domaćeg napadača.

Sa druge strane golman domaćih Martin Dubravka je odlično reagovao posle udarca od strane Harry Kanea izbacivši loptu u korner.

U 19. minutu igre Shelvey lepo pronalazi Dwighta Gayle u protivničkom šesnaestercu koji prvo glavom a zatim i nogom sa dva metra ne uspeva da savlada Llorisa, koji je maestralno reagovao.

Newcastle United je poveo 1:0 golom Joelintona u 28. minutu utakmice. Matt Ritchie je na levom boku uspeo da se dokopa lopte i da je nekako prosledi do Seana Longstaffa. Ovaj je uočio Joelintona koji se nalazio na sedam metara od protivničkog gola, pravovremeno mu dodao loptu a Big Joe je mirno desnom nogom poslao loptu u gostujuću mrežu.

Međutim, Harry Kane je posle samo devedeset sekundi igre izjednačio rezultat na 1:1. Lo Celso je pametno sa desnog boka gurnuo loptu na peterac domaćih gde je Krafth loptu lagano mogao da izbaci u korner ali je komplikovao i lopta stiže do Kanea, koji je sa tri metra šalje u mrežu domaćih u 30. minutu utakmice.

Harry Kane nije tu stao i u 34. minutu svojim drugim golom na utakmici je doveo Tottenham u vođstvo od 1:2. Ndombele je loptom sa očima pronašao Kanea u gostujućem šesnaestercu koji je desnom nogom sa desetak metara iskosa sa desnog boka šalje ispod Dubravke u njegovu malu mrežu. Prelako za Kanea.

U nastavku igre već posle desetak sekundi igre Miguel Almiron levom nogom preti udarcem sa desetak metara, iskosa sa desnog boka, ali Hugo Lloris ponovo iz sebe izvlači ono najbolje i loptu desnom rukom izbacuje u korner.

Četiri minuta kasnije Jacob Murphy je dva puta izblokiran.

U 66. minutu igre Almiron sa svoje gol-linije glavom loptu izbacuje u polje, posle udarca glavom Tangange sa četiri metra.

Četiri minuta kasnije na drugoj strani Joelinton sa šest metara desnom nogom promašuje ceo gol.

Igrao se 85. minutu kada je posle jednog kornera Newcastle Uniteda Harry Kane u svom šesnaestercu glavom loptu dodao do Lamele. Ovaj je povukao kontranapad i u pravom momentu dodao loptu upravo do Kanea, koji udarcem desnom nogom sa desetak metara pogađa stativu protivničkog gola.

Već u sledećem napadu usledila je kazna. Lopta je na polovini igrališta stigla do rezerviste Saint-Maximina koji je šalje na levi bok do Ritchiea. Usledio je odličan centaršut na dalju stativu gde je najviši u skoku bio Joelinton koji je glavom vraća do Almirona. Almiron takođe pokušava glavom, lopta pogađa jednog igrača gostuju u rame i pada na tri metra od gostujućeg gola. Na loptu iz drugog plana natrčava rezervista Joe Willock, koji je levom nogom zakucava u protivnički gol za konačnih 2:2.

Fulham je izgubio od Aston Ville rezultatom 3:1, tako da sada Svrake imaju 3 boda više i uakmice manje od Fulhama koji je prvi ispod crte. Newcastle United je prvi iznad crte sa 29 bodova.

Naredni meč Newcastle United igra sledeće nedelje na gostovanju protiv Burnleya, koji je danas izgubio od Southamptona rezultatom 3:2, uprkos tome što je u jednom momentu vodio rezultatom 0:2. Bilo bi dobro da se taj meč ne izgubi.

Vezni igrač Newcastle Uniteda Isaac Hayden završio je sezonu zbog povrede kolena.

Naime, na gostovanju u Brightonu, igrač domaćih Bissouma mu je nehotice celim telom pao na koleno leve noge.

Srećom, Hayden neće morati na operaciju.

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION  -  NEWCASTLE UNITED  3 : 0

Golovima Trossarda, Welbecka i Maupaya, Brighton je na svom Amex stadionu lako pobedio Newcastle United rezultatom 3:0. Svrake su imale jednu priliku, kada je Fraser pri rezultatu 1:0 za Galebove pogodio stativu protivničkog gola.

Prvo poluvreme potpuno u znaku Galebova. Već od starta su domaći igrači dominirali terenom i stvarali šansu za šansom. U prva tri minuta utakmice, levi bek domaćih Moder je dva puta mogao da savlada Dubravku, ali u tome nije uspeo.

U 38. minutu utakmice Maupay šutira sa pet metara, ali njegov udarac na metar od gol-linije izblokirao je defanzivac Svraka Clark.

Momenat koji je odlučio meč je teška povreda Haydena kojem je Bissouma nehotice pao na nogu u 45. minutu utakmice. Hayden je na nosilima iznesen sa terena, dok je umesto njega u igru ušao Hendrick.

Samo minut posle ulaska u igru Hendricka ekipa Newcastle Uniteda prima gol. Igrao se treći minut sudijske nadoknade kada je Leandro Trossard leđima okrenut protivničkom golu primio jednu dugu loptu. Trossard je uspeo da se okrene, stvori sebi priliku za udarac, što je i učinio felš udarcem desnom nogom sa preko dvadeset metara, pogodio donji levi ugao Dubravkinog gola za 1:0. Zasluženo.

U nastavku igre prvu priliku za gol imao je Newcasle United u 49. minutu utakmice kada je Ryan Fraser iskosa sa levog boka šutirao desnom nogom, ali njegov udarac završava na levoj stativi gola golmana domaćih Sancheza i šansa odlazi u nepovrat.

Već u sledećem napadu Brighton stiže do 2:0. Loptu je na levom boku dobio Danny Welbeck koji se lenjo približavao protivničkom šesnaestercu. Usledilo je Welbeckovo nameštanje za udarac desnom nogom, što je Danny i učinio pogodivši donji levi ugao Dubravkinog gola za 2:0, minut 51. Dubravka i Manquillo su mogli i bolje u ovoj situaciji.

U 68. minutu utakmice Neil Maupay na centaršut sa levog boka od strane Grossa volejom desnom nogom sa desetak metara postiže konačan rezultat 3:0. Game Over.

Do kraja meča, tačnije u 83. minutu utakmice Dubravka je odbranio vrlo dobar Welbeckov udarac sa desetak metara desnom nogom.

Svakim novim danom Stevea Bruca na klupi Newcastle Uniteda naš klub je bliži ispadanju iz Premier League. Imao je Mike Ashley priliku da ga smeni ali to nije uradio i lično mislim da će ovo Ashleyevo kockanje sa Bruceom biti njegovo najgore kockanje u svakom smislu.

Igrači dole na terenu su pokazali da su se predali. Više ne žele Brucea za trenera, ali Ashley je tvrdoglav. Ne želi da ga smeni. To će ga koštati finansijski. Kada ispadnemo u Championship, neće biti Chrisa Hughtona i Rafaela Beniteza da nas odmah vrate u Premier League. Tavorićemo u nižim ligama dok se klub ne proda. Međutim, u Championshipu na bogate Saudijce i PIF slobdono možemo da zaboravimo.

Posle 29 kola imamo dva boda više i utakmicu manje od Fulhama koji je prvi ispod crte. Po svemu sudeći Newcastle United i Fulham će se boriti koji će od ta dva kluba biti putnik za niži rang takmičenja. Sudeći po formi, svi znamo odgovor na to pitanje.

NEWCASTLE UNITED  -  ASTON VILLA  1 : 1

Kapiten Newcastle Uniteda Jamaal Lascelles je golom glavom sa pet metara duboko u sudijskoj nadoknadi drugog poluvremena doneo svom timu važan bod za opstanak i postavio konačan rezultat 1:1.

Prethodno je Aston Villa povela 0:1 nesretnim autogolom Ciarana Clarka u 86. minutu utakmice. Clarka je lopta pogodila u koleno posle udarca glavom Ollia Watkinsa.

U prvom poluvremenu nije viđen dopadljiv fudbal. Prvu priliku na meču imao je Ryan Fraser u 5. minutu utakmice, kada je sa dvadesetak metara testirao gostujućeg čuvara mreže Martineza.

U 14. minutu utakmice Joelinton je sa desnog boka ušao u gostujući šesnaesterac i umesto da proigra svoje saigrače, on se odlučio na udarac koji mu je izblokiran.

Sa druge strane u 23. minutu utakmice, rezervista Aston Ville El-Ghazi je oprobao udarac sa distance ali Dubravka brani udarac. Pet minuta kasnije i Trezeguet lepim udarcem sa desetak metara iskosa sa desnog boka preti Dubravki, ali ovaj i to brani.

U nastavku igre Ezri Konsa u 53. minutu igre glavom preti sa desetak metara, ali lopta prolazi pored desne stative Dubravkinog gola.

U 79. minutu utakmice umesto solidnog Ryana Frasera u igru je ušao Jacob Murphy. Upravo je  Murphy posle samo tri minuta provedenih na terenu udarcem sa desetak metara desnom nogom pogodio prečku gostujućeg gola.

U 85. minutu Ollie Watkins je pretio Dubravki gotovo iz mrtvog ugla ali Dubravka izlazi kao pobednik.

Međutim, u sledećem napadu na centaršut sa levog boka od strane Targetta, snalažljivi Ollie Watkins glavom sa osam metara upućuje udarac ka golu domaćih. Međutim, lopta na svom putu pogađa u koleno defanzivca Newcastle Uniteda Ciarana Clarka i od prečke završava u golu domaćih za 0:1, minut 86. Fudbal je okrutna igra.

U 93. minutu igre Ollie Watkins je mogao da reši pitanje pobednika udarcem sa osam metara desnom nogom, ali Dubravka herojski brani udarac.

Ostalo je vremena za još jedan napad Newcastle Uniteda. Shelvey je centaršutem sa četrdeset metara poslao loptu u gostujući šesnaesterac ali ona preleće sve igrače i dolazi do Murphya koji se nalazio na levom boku. Usledio je precizan centaršut na gostujući peterac gde je najviši u skoku bio Jamaal Lascelles, koji glavom smešta loptu u gostujuću mrežu za konačnih 1:1 u 94. minutu utakmice.

Možda će ovaj gol i ovaj bod doneti opstanak Newcastle Unitedu.

Aston Villa bez Jacka Grealisha nije tim koji uliva strah protivnicima, što se dokazalo i večeras. Ne kažem, nije Villa loše igrala i da su bili malo precizniji, mogli su odneti sva tri boda sa St James' Parka ali su Svrake ipak bile bliže golu pre vodećeg gostujućeg gola koji je takođe postignut srećno.

Sa duge strane, Newcastle United da ima ubitačnog napadača pored povređenog Wilsona davno bi obezbedio opstanak u Premier League. Večeras je Joelinton upropastio tri-četiri dobre prilike.

Posle 28 kola imamo isto toliko bodova, odnosno dva boda više od Fulhama koji je prvi ispod crte i bod manjei utakmicu od Brightona koji je iznad nas na tabeli Premier League.

Naš sledeći protivnik je upravo Brighton (ostvario trijumf u ovom kolu) sa kojim igramo sledeće subote. Možda će nam za opstanak trebati još dve pobede i dva remija? Videćemo, ima još deset kola da se odigra.
