Prvi čuvar mreže Newcastle United-a Tim Krul, zbog povrede ukrštenih ligamenata kolena, biće van stroja do kraja sezone. Krul se povredio na veštačkoj travi na stadionu u Astani na utakmici Kazakhstan - Holandija.

Rezervni čuvar mreže Karl Darlow je takođe povređen, dok je treći čuvar mreže Rob Elliot sa reprezentacijom Irske u Poljskoj. Zato je sa pozajmice iz Crawley Town-a povučen mladi Freddie Woodman.

"My recovery and hard work starts now to fully recover.
