Uprkos tome što je Newcastle United bio daleko bolji tim od Crystal Palaca na Selhurst Parku, u Londonu, Svrake nisu uspele da pronađu način da zatresu mrežu Orlova i osvoje sva tri boda. Rezultat posle devedeset minuta igre glasio je 0:0.

Newcastle United je stvorio nekoliko povoljnih prilika za gol ali jednostavno golman domaćih Guaita nije izvadio loptu iz soptvenog gola. Prilike za Newcastle Uniuted propustili su Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sven Botman, Callum Wilson, Fabian Schar i rezervista Alexander Isak, dok drugi rezervista Allan Saint-Maximin pred kraj utakmice nije najbolje reagovao na petercu domaćih i šansa je propala.

Takođe i Joelinton je imao dve prilike za gol ali je golman domaćih Vicente Guaita bio odličan.

Sa druge strane, petnaestak minuta pre kraja utakmice najbolju priliku za domaće imao je Jean-Philippe Mateta ali je golman Svraka Nick Pope bio na visini zadatka, odbranivši mu veoma neugodan udarac.

Dobra igra nažalost nije materijalizovana sa sva tri boda ali nemojmo zaboraviti da je Crystal Palace pre samo nekoliko dana remizirao i sa Manchester Unitedom na istom ovom stadionu.

Newcastle United je po prvi put u svojoj istoriji ostao neporažen na 15 ligaških mečeva zaredom. Kapa do poda svim igračimai, celom stručnom štabu, vlasncima odnosno čuvarima kluba i naravno našem treneru Eddieu Howeu.

Posle 20 odigranih utakmica, imamo 39 bodova i nalazimo se na trećem mestu na tabeli Premier League. Imamo šest bodova manje i od drugoplasiranog Manchester Citya i isti broj bodova od četvrtoplasiranog Manchester Uniteda. Za liderom Arsenalom kaskamo svih jedanaest bodova i imamo utakmicu više. Možda je najvažnije da petoplasiranom Tottenhamu bežimo šest bodova.

Ovaj meč je pokazao da nam je hitno potreban još jedan igrač u veznom redu koji zna da kreira i stvori šansu za napadača koji zna da postigne gol. Ne može Bruno sve sam. Miggy je opet Miggy. Njegova magija iz prvog dela sezone je nestala i opet se utapa u sivilo.

Nadam se da sve to čelnici kluba vide jer je ovo jedinstvena prilika da završimo u Top 4, jer klubovima ispod nas ne ide najbolje. Pre svih mislim na Tottenham, Liverpool i Chelsea.

Ostalo je još desetak dana do kraja zimskog prelaznog da čelnici kluba dovedu makar dva pojačanja. Nadamo se da će to i uraditi.

Već u utorak nas očekuje meč polufinala Carbao Cupa dole u Southamptonu.

Napadač Newcastle Uniteda Chris Wood prešao je u Nottingham Forest na pozajmicu do kraja sezone sa opcijom potpisivanja permanentnog ugovora.

Šumari su spremni da za Wooda plate 15 miliona funti. Da podsetimo, Chris Wood je u Newcastle United stigao prošlog januara za 25 miliona funti iz Burnleya, koji je ispao iz Premier Legaue.

Newcastle United je golom rezerviste Alexandera Isaka u 89. minutu utakmice pobedio veoma neugodni i čvrsti Fulham rezultatom 1:0.

U prvom poluvremenu Callum Wilson je imao dve vrlo dobre prilike za gol ali odbranama se istakao gostujući golman Bernard Leno. Nažalost, Bruno Guimaraes je morao biti zamenjen već na poluvremenu zbog povrede skočnog zgloba.

Prvu priliku u nastavku Newcastle United je imao iz slobodnog udarca kada je Fabian Schar pogodio stativu gostujućeg gola.

U 69. minutu utakmice bivša Svraka Aleksandar Mitrović je prilikom izvođenja jedanesterca za svoj tim loptu dodirnuo dva puta. Uprkos tome što je lopta zatresla mrežu Nicka Popea, jedanesterac je morao biti poništen. Ruku na srce, jedanesterac koji je dosudio glavni sudija meča Robert Jones uz pomoć VAR-a nije ni postojao, jer je Bobby Reed prvo nagazio Trippiera, da bi ga Trippier posle toga nespretno oborio.

U 77. minutu utakmice, rezervista Allan Saint-Maximin šutirao je pored protivničkog gola sa osamnaest metara.

Igrao se 89. minut utakmice kada je na centaršut sa desnog boka od strane Longstaffa, najviši u gostujućem petercu je bio Callum Wilson, koji je glavom uputio loptu ka protivničkom golu. Lopta je u leđa pogodila defanzivca Fulhama Issu Diopa, vratila se Wilsonu, koji ju je nogom vratio na dva metra od protivničkog gola, gde se nalazio Alexander Isak, koji se glavom samo poklonio i smestio loptu u gostujuću mrežu, za 1:0, za novo ludilo na St James' Parku, za povratak na treće mesto na tabeli Premier League.

Utakmica je produžena za svih sedam minuta ali su Svrake meč znalački priveli kraju.

Posle 19 utakmica imamo 38 bodova i nalazimo se na trećem mestu na tabeli Premier League. Imamo bod manje i utakmicu više od drugoplasiranog Manchester Citya i devet bodova manje i utakmicu više od lidera Arsenala. Ispod nas je četvrtoplasirani Manchester United sa istim brojem bodova kao i mi (38) i sa utakmicom manje. Petoplasirani tim je Tottenham koji ima sedam bodova manje od Newcastle Uniteda.

Brine nas povreda skočnog zgloba Bruna Guimaraesa koja je došla baš u nezogdnom momentu jer, uskoro igramo dvomeč polufinala League Cupa sa Southamptonom. Nadamo se da će uprava hitno reagovati i dovesti dostojnu zamenu za Bruna.

Sledeće subote putujemo u London na megdan Crystal Palaceu.

Fudbaler Newcastle Uniteda Joelinton uhapšen je u ranim jutarnjim časovima u četvrtak zbog vožnje u pijanom stanju i pod znakom pitanja je za meč protiv Fulhama koji se igra u nedelju na St James' Parku.

The Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton was charged with drink-driving in the early hours of Thursday and will appear in court at the end of this month.

Northumbria police confirmed that the 26-year-old was arrested at 1.20am and charged with driving above the prescribed limit for alcohol.

Shortly before 1.20am today [Thursday] officers pulled over a vehicle in the Ponteland Road area of Newcastle and arrested the occupant,” a police spokesperson said.

“Joelinton Casio, 26, of Ponteland, has since been charged whilst above the prescribed limit for alcohol. He is due to appear before magistrates in Newcastle on January 26.”

Newcastle officials, including the head coach, Eddie Howe, are aware of the incident.


Eddie Howe:

"I’m going to have to reflect and analyse on that and I’ll make a decision closer to the game in consultation with him. I’m not 100% (if he will play on Sunday).

"Of course we’ve had discussions (with the owners), because we’re very open with our communication around events that happen at the football club. I think that’s only right but there’s been nothing that’s gone beyond just an explanation and saying what’s happened and how we’re going to deal with it. Everything then is left in my hands.

"It came very much as a shock. It is a difficult situation. Joe is very remorseful and was very upset yesterday. He knows the seriousness of the situation. He understands his responsibilities. We also understand, as a club, the seriousness of the situation.

"Everything will be dealt with internally. Looking at Joe as a person, he is a very good professional and is hugely passionate about his career and the club.

"I was very much surprised by what happened, but we will back him and support him, while also educating him and helping him, that is important. He is very young, everyone makes mistakes. I think it is also important that we don’t overreact.”

"We will consider lots of factors (before deciding whether to play him), that is with every player. This is a different situation. My relationship with Joe is very good. I have sat down with him and will do so again. Ultimately, I have to pick the best team to win the game, that’s my job, but I also have to take into account the situation around that.

"He hasn't addressed the group and that's not something that I've necessarily put pressure on him to do. That's his personal choice, but the players absolutely love Joe. There is a possibility that I will give him that opportunity, but I do think it's down to the individual.

"Professionalism is the key and the heartbeat of every football club or every sporting organisation. You need your players to understand their roles - and not just players, but staff and everyone connected with the club.”

"All of us as humans cannot educate ourselves enough on these things. I don't claim to be an expert on this area. For all the squad it might be time to do that.”

U polufunalu League Cupa, Newcastle United će u dvomeču odmeriti snage sa Southamptonom.

Revanš se igra na St James' Parku u utorak 31.01.2023. sa početkom u 21h (CET).
