Newcastle United can confirm that winger Jonas Gutierrez is continuing to receive treatment in Argentina after being diagnosed with testicular cancer.

The Club has been aware of Jonas' condition for some time but has respected his wish for privacy as he undergoes treatment with his friends and family around him.

Newcastle United managing director, Lee Charnley, said: "We have and will continue to offer Jonas our full support.

"We thank our fans for their kind messages of support for Jonas and the thoughts and best wishes of everyone connected to Newcastle United are with him at this time."

The club kindly requests that Jonas' privacy is respected ahead of further enquiries.

Kako je sam Jonas izjavio, problem je nastao prilikom sudara sa Bacary Sagna-om u meču poslednjeg kola Premier League u sezoni 2012/13. Levi testis je posle meča počeo da mu otiče i posle skeniranja dijagnostikovan mu je rak. Jonas je podrvgnut hirurškoj operaciji, gde mu je levi testis odstranjen. Uporedo je primao i hemoterapiju.

"When I confirmed that I had cancer I went home crying. This was the most difficult game I had to play.
"I detected a tumour in a testicle. I came here and I assumed the costs, despite having a contract with Newcastle.

"Money is not important. What is important is health and I had to start chemotherapy. It was hard to find my hair falling out. I did not want to cut it. I wanted to hold on.
"Fighting cancer makes the rest of the problems are insignificant. I decided to tell my story because maybe is will help people who have cancer."

"I removed the left testicle. I returned to England and Newcastle told me to leave."

SOUTHAMPTON  -  NEWCASTLE UNITED  4 : 0

Baš kao i prošle sezone na St. Mary's stadionu, Southampton je deklasirao Newcastle United rezultatom 4:0 i gurnuo Pardew-a na samu ivicu otkaza.

Već od prvog minuta videlo se da na jugu Engleske Newcastle United nema šta da traži. Posle samo tridesetak sekundi igre, Krul pogodio Shane Long-a na kratak pas Coloccini-a i lopta je otišla samo nekolimo santimetara pored stative, srećom ne u gol. Minut-dva kasnije Krul je pukom srećom ostao na terenu, jer je sudija Chris Foy mirne duše mogao da mu pokaže crveni karton, jer je Krul rukama zakucao Longa po vilici u svom šesnaestercu. Krul-u crveni karton i jedanesterac za domaće. Od svega, samo aut za domaće.

Međutim, posle samo šest minuta igre na lep centaršut sa levog boka Bertrand-a, visoki Italijan Graziano Pelle sa pet metara zakucava loptu glavom u mrežu Krul-a, za 1:0.

Nije se dugo čekalo na drugi gol Southampton-a. Igrao se 19. minut kada je komični Mike Williamson glavom uposlio Tadića, koji je loptu gurnuo do Graziano Pelle-a, koji je sa desetak metara šalje u praznu mrežu za 2:0. Gosti su tražili ofsajd, kojeg nije bilo.

Tek tada su se igrači u crno-belom trgli, stvorivši dve dobre prilike. Prvu kada je Sissoko šutirao sa desetak metara, ali mu je Forster odbranio udarac i drugu kada je Colback uputio udarac ka golu Svetaca, ali i njemu je Forster odbranio udarac.

U nastavku igre, tačnije u 54. minutu, Mike Williamson je ponovo ispao smešan, jer se nije dogovorio sa Krul-om ko će stići do lopte, što je na najbolji mogući način iskoristio Jack Cork, poslavši loptu u praznu mrežu za 3:0.

Mogao je Newcastle United do utešnog pogotka iz nekoliko prilika ali je Forster bio nesavladiv.

Tačku na i stavio je Morgan Schneiderlin u 94. minutu utakmice prelepim udarcem sa petnaestak metara, pogodivši same leve rašlje Krul-ovog gola, za konačnih 4:0.

Sky Sports je javio da je Ashley na samom stadionu posle utakmice održao sastanak sa Pardew-om, da vide šta dalje i kuda dalje. Newcastle United je zakucan na samo dno Premier League sa svega dva boda iz četiri meča. Ashley Out, Pardew Out!

A Newcastle United club statement regarding the Daily Telegraph

Newcastle United has today banned the Daily Telegraph with immediate effect following a report published in its paper yesterday (Thursday, 11th September), headlined 'Newcastle United For Sale As Ashley Eyes Rangers', as well as a follow-up article from the same reporter which appears in the Daily Telegraph today (Friday, 12th September).

The reports by Luke Edwards on 11th September, and again today (12th September), are wholly inaccurate and written with the intention of unsettling the Club, players and its supporters.

This is disgraceful journalism for which the Club and its supporters should receive a full and unreserved apology from those concerned.

The truth is Mike Ashley remains committed to Newcastle United.

For the avoidance of doubt, this means that for the remainder of this season and AT LEAST until the end of next season, Mike Ashley will not, under any circumstances, sell Newcastle United at any price.

The Club cannot be stronger in stating its position on this matter.

It is not acceptable for newspapers to print factually inaccurate reports that are damaging to the Club and to fail to check facts with Newcastle United ahead of publication and then expect to receive access to the Club.

Newcastle United will not tolerate this and will take such action as it deems appropriate.

The ban extends to all reporters working for, or freelancing on behalf of, the Daily Telegraph, as well as Luke Edwards in any capacity he may have working for the paper's sister title or on a freelance basis.

Vezista Newcastle United-a Siem de Jong, povredio je desnu butinu na treningu i zbog te povrede neće biti na raspolaganju manager-u Alan Pardew-u nekoliko meseci.
