Manager Newcastle United-a Alan Pardew je proglašen za najboljeg manager-a Premier League u sezoni 2011/12.

Alan Pardew je samim tim postao prvi manager Newcastle United-a koji je osvojio ovu nagradu, baš kao i prvi manager koji je osvojio ovu nagradu a da niti jednom nije bio manager meseca u protekloj sezoni.

Ispred St James' Park-a, 6. maja otkrivena je statua u čast legendarnog manager-a Newcastle United-a Sir Bobby Robson-a.

Ceremoniji su prisustvovali udovica Elsie Robson, sinovi Bobby Robson-a kao i Paul Gascoigne, Steve Harper, Nikos Dabizas, Alan Pardew, Lee Clark, Peter Bearsley, Bobby Moncur, Gordon Milne and Charlie Woods, Niall Quinn kao i mnogi drugi.

An erroneous story which has been circulated this evening by Steve Goodman, regarding Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse and Real Madrid, is taken from a recent interview Papiss conducted with L’Equipe.

In the article, Mr Goodman states that Papiss has issued a “come and get me” appeal to Real Madrid. This statement is utterly untrue.

In the interview with L’Equipe, Papiss responded to a question about Real Madrid to say that he has admired the club since he was young. This in no way constitutes a ‘come and get me’ plea.

Mr Goodman further claims that Papiss ‘insisted he hopes to join them [Real Madrid]‘. Papiss has never made such a statement and refutes the suggestion in the strongest possible terms.

The player is completely committed to Newcastle United and is not interested in anything other than ensuring he and the team finish the season as strongly as possible.

The matter is now in the hands of the player’s legal representatives.

Odlična utakmica viđena je na prepunom St James' Park-u, gde je verovatno novi šampion Premier Legaue Manchester City pobedio domaćina Newcastle United rezultatom 0:2.

Alan Pardew je na dupke pun St James' Park izveo sledećih XIKrul, Perch, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon, Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Tiote, Gutierrez, Cisse, Ba.

Sve je bilo otvoreno do 70. minuta, ali tada manager Man City-a Roberto Mancini pomera Yaya Toure-a bliže golu Newcastle-a, što je odmah i rezultiralo pogotkom.

Yaya Toure je sa oko dvadesetak preciznim udarcem gađao donji levi ugao golmana Krul-a i pogodio za 0:1, minut 70.

Heroj građana Yaya Toure u 89. minutu sa pet metara postavlja konačan rezultat 0:2.

Čini se da se titula seli iz crvenog u plavi deo Manchester-a.
